My Granddaughters

rose rose "If I had known how wonderful it would be to have grandchildren,
I'd have had them first."

My oldest granddaughter, Staci Kate, was born in 1991. She was everything I could have hoped for, and more. I was only 44 but I felt like I had been waiting forever to be a grandmother. It was every bit as thrilling as I had always imagined it would be. Staci is a typical first born in many ways - particular about a lot of things and a little hard on herself at times. In 2015 she graduated from Wichita State University. She now works as a registered nurse in the pediatrics ward of the Hutchinson Hospital. She has loved animals all her life and has a cat named Jinx.

My second granddaughter, Kelsey Hope, was born in 1994. I was every bit as pleased to be a grandmother as I was the first time - and just as happy she was a girl. Kelsey is very smart. She takes things in stride, which makes it easier for her to be a middle child. She has a unique way of looking at the world that makes her amusing and interesting to be around. She got her Bachelors Degree at Pittsburg State University in just three years. In the fall she will be back at Pitt State pursuing a masters degree in clinical psychology. She has a cat named Colt.

My youngest granddaughter, Megan Kile, was born in 1995. The experience was no less exciting the third time. Sometimes Megan looks and acts the way you would expect the baby of the family would. However, behind those big blue eyes is a lot of determination. When she sets her mind to do something she is very likely going to do it. She will be starting her third year at Wichita State University this fall. She is thinking of being an elementary school teacher. She lives at home with her parents and enjoys their dogs, Kimber and Mauser, and her sisters' cats.

Below are a few of my favorite photos of the girls.

When my son-in-law was still a police officer we had the girls' photo taken with his gear. Because they like to sing the theme song from "Cops" I used that as the title for the scrapbook page.
