Linda (Holmes) Macklin emailed this about the parade: "Sue and I attended the parade, there was a float for each of the 4 classes and a small band, (sure not as large as the one we had in school) and the football team and cheerleaders and that was about it. Took all of 15 minutes to go around the square."
I intended to go but totally missed it! I had called the high school the Monday before and was told the parade would be at 1 p.m.
When Sue and I left the coffee I visited her parents and she visited my Dad (both of them live in the duplexes across from the swimming pool). We were going to walk up the rail trail to downtown to see the parade and then I was going out to Roger Adams' house to take photos of where I used to live.
However, we found out that the parade wasn't until two. So Ron and Jeanne Wolken and I went out to Roger's. After talking and taking photos we left for town to see the parade. However, I stopped at Ernest School (where I went from grade 1 - 6). It is in shambles but I still wanted photos to show my kids. It wasn't much after two when I got to town but the parade was over.
If anyone has any photos of the parade, please let me know.
