Twelve Roses for Valentines Day

(author unknown)

One rose for the times we've shared and the memories we've made.
One rose for being someone I can trust.
One rose for accepting me as I am.
One rose for forgiving me the mistakes I've made.
One rose for taking the time to listen even when you don't understand or agree.
One rose for being there when I need you.
One rose for letting me be there when you need someone.
One rose for the hopes and dreams and feelings you share.
One rose for your actions that speak louder than words.
One rose for knowing when to speak and when to offer silence.
One rose for your smile that brings joy into my world.
And one rose for being one of life's most beautiful gifts.
Twelve roses because you are important to me and I love you.

Through the Years

(author unknown)

Through all the changes
in my life, your love
has remained
constant and unconditional.
Though at times
you may have questioned,
worried or wondered . . .
you never stopped loving me.
On this day of love
I want you to know how very much that means.
You who have loved me first,
love me best.
Thank you for all the love you've shared.

After Years

(Helen Harrington)

I have surrounded you
with symbols of love
too long to change!
I rearrange
the arrow, the dove
(the joy, the pain)
but the heart stays true
as a weather vane!

Love becomes a habit,
a course traveled often,
it wears a groove
that the heart
cannot get out of.

It continues to move
obstacles from its path
and reinforce
its destination.
Take, then, my valentine,
torn, worn, but
(as its raggedness assures)
still yours.

It's the thought that counts...

(author unknown)

Write one of these poems on a card and give it as a gift along with an empty box.

A Gift of Love

This is a very special gift
That you can never see.
The reason it's so special
It's just for you from me.

Whenever you are lonely,
Or ever feeling blue,
You only have to hold this gift
And know I think of you.

You never can unwrap it.
Please leave the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close to your heart.
It's filled with LOVE inside.

Friendship Gift

(author unknown)

I took an ordinary box
As empty as can be.
I filled it with a special gift
And wrapped it carefully.

But please don't ever open it
Just leave the ribbon tied.
And hold it tightly near your heart
Because my love for you's inside!

Page Idea

Put squirrel die-cuts or stickers in the opposite bottom corners of a page facing each other. Put brown letter stickers aligned along the bottom of the page between the squirrels saying "ABOUT YOU". Just above that use the brown letters slanted every which way to spell "NUTS". Use die-cut acorns around the letters "nuts" and use leaf stickers to decorate the rest of the page. (Tobi W.)

Sweetheart Album

This was created using old Creative Memories products but is easy to adapt to newer CM products or products from other companies.
Materials: 8x10 Album, various border rulers, heart templates, various size and color heart stickers, top hat stickers, black bow-tie stickers, long stem rose stickers, two cupid die-cuts, one white scallop heart die-cut, red wagon stickers, one bright pink scallop heart die-cut, small frog stickers, bow stickers, basket stickers, bee stickers, ABC stickers--bright pink and primary, small flower stickers, confetti stickers, fine-tip pens, wide-tip pens, one sheet deep-blue checkered paper, one sheet cranberry checkered paper.
NOTE: Tri-dots are just groups of three closely spaced pen dots.

Page 1

Draw the shape of a heart about 2/3 the size of the page. Cover the lines with small flower stickers. Place a purple bow at the top of the heart. Using bright pink ABC stickers, write TRUE LOVE across the top of the heart arching along the shape. In the bottom right corner place a wicker basket sticker and fill with flower stickers. Some flowers toppling out of the basket is cute. Place a bee sticker above the basket of flowers.

Page 2 and 3

Using a Victorian border ruler and a red wide tip pen draw two vertical lines about 3/4 inch apart along the left side of page 2 and the right side of page 3. Place four black top hat stickers at the top and bottom of the design on each page. Put a small red heart on each top hat. Place two long stem single rose stickers in the middle of each of the vertical lines. Put a black bow-tie at the bottom of the flowers to hold them together. Randomly place three small red hearts down each column. Finish with red tri-dots using the fine tip pen.

Page 4 and 5

Using the primary ABC stickers, write "I love you" in a scattered pattern up the left side and across the top of page 4 and across the bottom and up the right side of page 5. Scatter confetti stickers among the words.

Page 6 and 7

Using a scallop border ruler draw and cut the design on blue checkered paper. Mount vertically along the left side of page 6 and the right side of page 7. Place small pink hearts in every other valley. In the valleys in between, place pink tri-dots using a fine tip pen. Place one pink medium sized heart at the top of each strip of blue paper.

Page 8 and 9

Using a Victorian border ruler and a green fine tip pen, draw two lines vertically down the left side of page 8 and the right side of page 9 with about 1/2 inch apart. Use pink and white medium heart stickers. Put white hearts on the top left of page 8 and the bottom right of page 9. Put pink hearts on the bottom left of page 8 and the top right of page 9. Scatter small pink hearts (3 each page) down the vertical lines.

Page 10 and 11

Use a wavy border ruler and green fine tip pen to draw a line across the top and down the left side of the page 10 going only half way across the page. Draw another wavy line across the bottom and up the right side of page 11, going only half way across the page. Place various colored medium heart stickers in the corners and randomly place purple and pink heart stickers along the left side of page 10 and the bottom of page 11. Place green, and blue hearts along the top of page 10 and the right side of page 11.

Page 12 and 13

Place a bright pink Cupid die-cut on the bottom left of page 12 and the top right of page 13 so they look like they are shooting arrows at each other. Place small heart with arrow stickers at the top right of page 12 and the bottom left of page 13.

Page 14 and 15

Use a wavy border ruler and a black fine-tip pen to draw a continuous line across the bottom of pages 14 and 15 so it looks like a bumpy road. Use wagon stickers and two leaping frogs. Cut the frogs legs off and place them so they look like they are sitting in the wagon. Place a frog on the "road" on page 14 and another on page 15 facing each other. Fill the wagons with small hearts, with some hearts spilling onto the road. Using a green fine-tip pen write "You Bring" on page 14 and "Love to Me!" on page 15 along the bottom of the road.

Page 16 and 17

Cut two strips of cranberry gingham paper about 2 inches wide and mount them vertically along the left side of page 16 and the right side of page 17. Use medium sized red and pink heart stickers. Place one heart of each color on the top and bottom of the gingham paper. Put smaller red and pink hearts randomly down the gingham paper. Use two hearts with arrows on each page in random order on the gingham paper.

Page 18 and 19

Using a small heart template, draw five hearts vertically along the left side of page 18 and the right side of page 19 using a red fine tip pen. Turn the first heart in and the second one out, etc. (It is easiest to first draw the top and bottom hearts--facing the same way. Then the middle heart--facing the same way. THEN position the two inside hearts--facing the OPPOSITE way.) Place small red and pink hearts along the lines of the hearts and where they overlap.

Page 20 and 21

Use one bright pink scallop heart die-cut and one white scallop heart die-cut. Place the "ring' of the bright pink die-cut in the top right corner of page 20. Place the white "center" scallop heart die-cut in the bottom right of page 21. Place six small pink heart stickers in pairs on the white die-cut heart. Also trace around the white die-cut with a pink fine-tip pen.

Page 22 and 23

Using a wavy border ruler and a red fine-tip pen, draw a wavy line going about half way up the left side and the bottom of page 22. Draw a wavy line going about half way up the right side and the bottom of page 23. Place various color medium heart stickers in the corners and two red and two pink hearts in random order along the lines on each page. Use a yellow pen to make tri-dots along the wavy line.

Page 24 and 25

Place a red bow in the top left corner of page 24 and a purple bow in the bottom right of page 25. Place three small red hearts on either side of the bows along the top and down the side of page 24. Do the same with small purple hearts on page 25. Use red dots made with a red fine-tip pen to connect the hearts on page 24, and a purple fine-tip pen to connect the purple hearts on page 25. Use a wavy line to connect the hearts.

Page 26 and 27

Use a Victorian border ruler and red-fine tip pen to draw two lines vertically down the page. Draw vertical lines on the left side of page 26 and the right side of page 27. Use large red heart stickers at the bottom of the pages. Place a single red rose at the bottom of the hearts. Use open red roses and closed red roses along the vertical lines.

Page 28 and 29

Use one red heart die-cut. Use the inside solid heart die-cut at the top left side of page 28. Use the open heart die-cut at the bottom right corner of page 29. Place small pink and red hearts along the top and left side of page 28 and the bottom and right side of page 29. Use a red-fine tip pen to draw squiggly lines to connect the small hearts to each other and the die-cut and to make tri-dots along the lines. Use small pink bow stickers at the top of each heart die-cut.

Page 30

Use a pink wide-tip pen and a Victorian border ruler to draw a border along each side, top, and bottom about 3/4 inches from the edges. Use small purple bow stickers at the top right, top left, and bottom left of the border. Place two medium size heart stickers at the middle top of the border. Place small flower stickers along the bottom and up the side in the right corner. Use a green fine-tip pen to make squiggly vines coming from the flowers. Use two heart and arrow stickers on the right side and the left side of the border. Use red and pink fine tip pens to make tri-dots all along the border.
