2022 update "Mike Champe-Retired but not tired. It's always nice to hear from the amazing Class of '65. It's a trip back to a time of good friends and fun times. There I am in the halls of the nice old brick building trying to look invisible yet cool. I had just moved from the big city to a little town where my Grandparents lived...I was in shock, having just lost my dad. But, I felt at home as I had visited many summers and been to the pool often.
Okay, what have I done with God given time on the planet? Pretty much what everyone does, went to school, married, divorced, worked as a cartoonist, painter and photographer and I'm lucky enough to live in another nice town, Santa Barbara. I've got to live and travel throughout California, SB is home. I've been blessed with good health and I hope you all are happy, healthy and prosperous."

Info as of 2015 Mike lives in Santa Barbara, CA. His life revolves around creating art - drawing, painting and photography. His drawings are mainly humorous designs out of his head, his paintings are mainly landscapes, and the photos are related to landscapes as well.
Lately he enjoys spending time at the beach painting, including the harbor, the cliffs above the ocean, and down on the sand at the water. He listens to classical music in the morning, Beatles at night, Jimmi really late at night, Saturdays the blues, Sundays is jazz. And, he doesn't surf.
Check out Mike's website for a recent photo of him and examples of his cartoon designs.

Notes:
Mike designed the t-shirts for several of our class reunions.
Mike served in the military.

High School Memories:
(written in 2015) At that time everything was about high school; first seeing the old brick school house, climbing the steps, finding my locker and trying to fit in to a new community. It was all quite different than KC.
Garnett had a nice feeling of the small town full of lots of friendly folk. I was even related to some, including cousin Ed Fink, the barber. Cruising the Square, working on cars, drinking beer to excess, running the lake, sports...loved football, the Beatles, screwing up in class, hauling hay with the guys, and all without a care."
