Linda's obituary from the Garnett paper:
Linda Kay Askins, daughter of John and Cora B. Askins and sister of Carol Ann, was born January 14, 1947, in Garnett, KS and died Feb 25, 1970 at the University of KS Medical Center in Kansas City.
Most of Linda's youthful but enjoyable life was spent in Garnett. As a child, she was baptized and became a member of the Methodist Church, and participated in its youth activities. Linda attended the Garnett Public Schools, completing her education with her life-long friends with the class of 1965 this was a happy, meaningful moment.
Linda then attended the Hays Beauty School in Mission, KS, fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a beautician. Following her graduation from Hays, she was employed at the Jones Store Beauty Salon in Prairie Village, KS. There she had the opportunity to realize her dream of bringing beauty into others' lives, working with personal friends who shared her interest.
Linda had a great love for life and the simple, everyday things brought great pleasure to her. A part of this love in life was people. People were important to Linda. It was her love for people that brought fun-filled days in her short life.
People responded to her love and there are numerous friends and beloved relatives of the Tush and Atkins families who will remember her love.
...Burial was in the Garnett Cemetery.
