Fruit
(Meish Goldish)
In a giant fruit basket
Here's what I found:
Grapes and grapefruit
Plums, sweet and round
Strawberries, blueberries
Raspberries too
Dates and figs
As sticky as glue!
Apples and pineapples,
Cherries and pears
Peaches with skin
With soft, fuzz hairs
Apricot, oranges
A lemon and lime
Watermelon, cantaloupe
Fresh in their prime
Ripe bananas
A juicy tangerine
The tastiest fruit basket
I've ever seen.

Quotes
- An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
- Anyone can count the number of seeds in an apple, but only God can count the number of apples in a seed. (Robert H. Schuller)
- In an orchard there should be enough to eat, enough to lay up, enough to be stolen, and enough to rot on the ground. (James Boswell)
Applesauce
Peel an apple,
cut it up,
cook it in a pot.
When you taste it
you will find
it's applesauce you've got!
Apples in Autumn
It's hard to eat apples,
Without my front teeth,
But apples in autumn
Are really a treat.
The apples are squooshy
Down under my feet,
But those from the tree
Are still crunchy and sweet!
Apples
(Helen H. Moore)
Apples, apples, what a treat,
Sweet and tart and good to eat.
Apples green and apples red,
Hang from branches overhead,
And when they ripen,
Down they drop,
So we can taste our apple crop.
Apples, Apples
Apples juicy, apples round,
On the tree or on the ground.
Apples yellow, apples red,
Apple pie and juice and bread!
Apples crunchy, apples sweet,
Apples are so good to eat!
Five Apples
The first apple in the basket
was bright and shy red.
The second apple in the basket
said, "What a cozy bed!"
The third apple in the basket
said, "Please move over there."
The fourth apple in the basket
said, "Now we are two pair."
The fifth apple in the basket
said, "Oh dear, me-oh-my!"
"This basket looks like pastry."
"I think we're apple pie!"
High Apples
Way up high in an apple tree
Two little apples smiled at me
I shook that tree as hard as I could.
Down came the apples,
M-m-m were they good!
Eat an Apple
Eat an apple;
Save the core.
Plant the seeds.
And grow some more.
Red Apple
A little red apple
Hung high in a tree
I looked up at it
And it looked down at me
"Come down, please" I called
And what do you suppose . . .
That little red apple
Dropped right on my nose!
The Apple
Up in the apple tree,
High off the ground,
I see an apple
So big and round.
I climb up the tree,
And hold on tight.
I pick that apple
And take a bite!
Our Tree
(Marchette Chute)
When spring comes round, our apple tree is very full of flowers,
And when a bird sits on a branch the petals fall in showers.
When summer comes round, our apple tree is very full of green,
And everywhere you look in it there is a leafy screen.
When autumn comes round, our apple tree is full of things to eat
And apples hang from every branch to tumble at our feet.
When winter comes round, our apple tree is full of snow and ice,
And rabbits come to visit it . . .
We think our tree is nice.

Ingredients For Jam
(Mary Cooper)
Sufficient glasses
And a good-sized kettle,
Fresh-hulled berries,
Well-shaped and crimson red.
Sugar . . . and to put you
On your mettle
A small boy waiting
With a piece of bread.
Blueberries
(Robert Frost)
Blueberries as big as the end of your thumb,
Real sky-blue, and heavy, and ready to drum
In the cavernous pail of the first one to come!
And all ripe together, not some of them green
And some of them ripe! You ought to have seen!

Cherry-Time
(Emily Dickinson)
When I sound the fairy call,
gather here in silent meeting,
Chin to knee on the orchard wall,
cooled with dew and cherries eating.
Merry, merry, take a cherry,
mine are sounder, mine are rounder,
Mine are sweeter for the eater,
when the dews fall, and you'll be fairies all.
A Bowl of Cherries

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Oranges Are a Juicy Fruit
Oranges are a juicy fruit
Many are big, Satsumas are cute.
You get orange juice with some squeezin' and cuttin'
One even comes with a bellybutton.
They grow on a tree in the winter season
In parts of the world where it isn't freezin'.
So when you need a healthy treat
Peel yourself an orange - sweet to eat!
What Color is an Orange?

Red or yellow or blue - No Way!
