(I corrected typos - they had his graduation year as 1964 and his children's last names as Boyd-Ashlock even though he was adopted by Charley after his children were born and they never used that name.)

After getting out of the Navy in 1972 Skip lived for a short time in Colony, KS where he operated a taxidermy shop. Most of the rest of his life he spent in various western states.
Since I did not have much contact with Skip after high school I did not know a lot about what he did. I knew he married Diana because I was at their wedding - he left for the Navy shortly after that. I knew he had two children, divorced and remarried. The daughter, Jessica Rene, mentioned in his obituary is from his second marriage.
A few years ago I was fortunate to get in contact with Skip's first wife, Diana and his daughter, Buffy. They sent me information and photos.
Skip Boyd and Diana Higbie were married September 3, 1965 in Garnett. They had two children. Charles Russell Boyd, Jr. "Russ" was born August 6, 1966 in Rhode Island. Buffy Lynn Boyd was born June 11, 1970 in Ottawa, KS.
Skip and Diana divorced around 1970. She is remarried and lives in Topeka.
Russ graduated from Salina High School in 1984 and then went to Emporia state where he received his Masters degree. He counsels physically and mentally abused teens. He was married July 3, 1992. His wife, Kathy is a social worker. Russ and Kathy have two children, Dylan Russell born in 1996 and Emma Grace born in 2000.
Buffy attended K-State for a year and then Washburn University for a while. She now lives in Corpus Christi, Texas where she is Revenue Manager for the Holiday Inn. She has two children, Lyrik Ylana born in 2001 and Trae born in 2003.
