2022 update from Marilyn "Ben passed away September 23, 2019, and then Covid hit, so I’ve concentrated my time around my daughters, Jackie and Jenny, son-in-law Daren and grandkids, Quinn and Avery. I’m fortunate to have the twins in Ottawa so I can still pick them up from school two or three times a week and have them out to the farm for sleepovers. Daughter, Jackie, became a travel nurse in Montana in 2021 and recently took me on a 1,500 mile trip to visit my three sisters, which I hadn’t seen for almost three years. Daughter, Jen, son-in-law, Daren, and grand-children, Quinn and Avery, are close by and during Covid have provided for my well-being, road trips and many delicious meals and family movie times. My family has been such a blessing after losing Ben and during the pandemic. Since things are starting to get back to normal, I plan on getting out more and traveling. I am also still working on family genealogy books, which I hope to finish this year. I hope 2022 is a blessed year for everyone in the class of '65."

Info as of 2015 After graduation, Marilyn moved to Kansas City and worked for Hallmark Cards as an administrative assistant. In 1968 she married Ben and they moved to Ottawa, KS. She worked for the Franklin County Probate Judge and later the Franklin County Attorney and Drug Enforcement Unit. Most of her career has been in the legal secretarial field. She currently works part time for an accounting firm and plans to retire later this year.
Marilyn and Ben will celebrate their 47th anniversary this year. The have two daughters, Jackie and Jennifer. Jackie is an RN in ICU at the hospital in Ottawa. Jennifer works for American Eagle in Ottawa; she and her husband Daren (a law enforcement officer) became parents of twins, Avery and Quinn, in 2014.
Ben has a son, Jerry, from a previous marriage. He and his wife Pat live in Jupiter, Florida
Ben and Marilyn live on a 7-acre farm near Ottawa and enjoy the peace and quiet of country life.
Marilyn enjoys interior decorating, being outdoors, planting, raising and arranging flowers, photography, art, family history and sitting on the porch visiting family and friends. She has planned and organized several seminars for legal secretaries and other events and enjoys organizing and hosting family reunions and celebrations.
Future dreams would be to watch the grandchildren grow up and share in their memorable experiences.
